The University of the Aegean and the Lifelong Learning Programs (LLL) of the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM)

The University of the Aegean as an authoritative and high-level academic-research institution, active in modern and dynamic academic subjects, aspires to consolidate and further strengthen its position in the Greek and international academic environment and to increase its attractiveness – in international economic conditions and social crisis – influencing at the same time more powerfully, to strengthen the institutional, development and social cohesion of the insular region, the Eastern Mediterranean. To achieve its vision, the University of the Aegean invests in the quality of its academic structure and the responsibility of its Scientific and Administrative Staff and builds on the tradition of innovation, interdisciplinarity and its social role. The mission of the University of the Aegean, a public University in Greece, is defined by three axes:

Education:

Education is provided in three cycles: 1st cycle of studies, Undergraduate studies – a Bachelor’s or a Degree of five-year studies, 2nd cycle of studies Postgraduate Studies, a MA, a MSc or a MBA, 3rd cycle, Doctoral Studies, Ph.D. Studies, a Ph.D.

In addition to three-cycle institutional education, additional short programmes of scientific, interdisciplinary and professional specialisation – such as Programs to support the training of new Researchers (International Summer Schools), Lifelong Learning Programmes, are provided in order to continuously cover the needs of science and society.

Promoting excellence at all levels of education and learning, the University of the Aegean began to offer from October 2012 innovative professional training and specialization programs in cutting-edge scientific fields, which are addressed to both graduates and high school graduates. Having successfully implemented multiple cycles of Lifelong Learning Programs (200+ Programs in 15+ Scientific Fields) to date, the widening of the range of knowledge subjects continues. These programs are offered through e-learning and are aimed at graduates as well as high school graduates. The training courses and programs are implemented (a) by well-known and internationally recognized University Professors and, as the case may be, renowned professionals in the field, (b) by utilizing standard e-Learning formats, and (c) by utilizing and expanding the award-winning at the European level experience and know-how of the University of the Aegean in the organization and operation of e-learning programs.

The implementation is based on the significant experience and expertise of the University of the Aegean in the organization and operation of e-learning programs, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and is based on certified planning and development structures: technical and technological infrastructures, pedagogical models, alternative “scenarios” for the implementation of e-learning.

With the 229717/Z1 (Government Gazette Issue 4/t.B/05.01.2018) the Education and Lifelong Learning Center (K.E.DI.VI.M.) of the University of the Aegean was established, in accordance with the provisions of art. 48 of Law 4485/2017.
