Saxion University of Applied Sciences

Saxion is one of the largest HE institutions in the Netherlands, with over 26,000 students and 2,850 employees. A merger of formerly two educational institutions enabled Saxion to build a strong position in the Dutch HE system. Since then, Saxion has come to be recognised as an important centre of expertise at regional, national, and international levels.

The School of Education actively promotes several areas within the digitisation of education. It is also a leader in scientific research about the effects of digital media in teaching. The School of Education offers Associate Degree programs (level 5) for Education as well as Bachelor and Master programs for primary and secondary Education. Symen van der Zee is the leading professor for the research programs which have a special focus at AR and VR. At the School of Education we also offer our students and colleagues in primary and secondary education master and bachelor programs, for example the bachelor Innovative Educational Approaches, the Master Learning and Innovation, and the Master Educational Leadership. We have also set up a Future Learning Lab for our students and colleagues, as well as for children from primary or secondary education to experiment and to learn.

Saxion is an open and accessible university of applied sciences. With excellent programmes, we educate students to live and work in the world of today, as well as to create the future. We provide interdisciplinary, future-oriented education and research programs, encourage lifelong learning and inspire entrepreneurship.
