Pedagogical Alliance for XR-Technology in (Teacher) Education

PAX provides research based XR frameworks for teachers and developers in the field of primary, secondary, and vocational educational contexts.

About PAX

PAX – Pedagogical Alliance for XR-Technology in (Teacher) Education – aims to revolutionize teacher training by integrating extended reality (XR) technologies like virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. This project brings together educational institutions and XR enterprises to develop innovative teaching methods that prepare teachers to effectively use XR in their classrooms.

Mission and Vision

PAX’s mission is to enhance education by equipping teachers with XR skills and knowledge. We envision a future where XR is seamlessly integrated into curricula, providing immersive and interactive learning experiences. Our goal is to create a student-centered, problem-based approach to teaching that adapts to technological advancements.

Collaborative Network

PAX unites six European universities and three XR developers, fostering a continuous exchange of knowledge and best practices. This collaboration aims to create innovative solutions and promote an entrepreneurial mindset among educators, preparing them to inspire and engage students with XR technologies.

Understanding XR Technology

XR (Extended Reality) encompasses a range of technologies including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). These technologies create immersive experiences by blending the physical and digital worlds.
Augmented Reality (AR)

AR overlays digital information onto the real world, enhancing the physical environment with interactive elements. Example: AR apps that display historical information over real-world locations.

Virtual Reality (VR)

VR creates a completely immersive digital environment, isolating the user from the physical world. Example: VR simulations for training teachers in classroom management.

Mixed Reality (MR)

MR combines elements of both AR and VR, allowing real and virtual objects to interact in real-time. Example: MR platforms that enable collaborative learning in a shared digital and physical space.
